The morning was spent at the resort, mainly working on trying to catch up on photos. We are traveling so much now that we are very behind on the photos. Months behind. But we keep plugging away.
In the afternoon we were picked up at the
hotel for a fairly long drive down the east side of the Dead Sea. We were eventually dropped off at a lovely
beach-side resort. Huge pool and great
beach with lots of big, grass umbrellas.
We hung out on lounge chairs on the beach until it was time to catch our glass bottomed
boat.
The day is wonderful, the breeze balmy, the sun is shining, and the waters are very clear and blue sea. We drifted over the ruins of both a boat...
and plane.
The captain indicated that both wrecks were actually deliberately placed in the waters to help build the reefs.
The reefs themselves looked to be in rather
poor condition but we did see some fish.
But that is true of reefs all over the world.
Tara decided to go into the water to do some snorkeling. We decided to opt out. The reefs, and the small amount of fish, just didn’t look like they were worth getting in and the hassle of getting cleaned up afterwards.
In the evening we walked down to the souk
area for dinner. We ordered a number of
appetizers and such to all share. It was
a good meal.
They had some great travel slogan signs on the wall...
and the place mats had a map of Jordan...and we are going to many of the places on it.
